Prepare for Birth, Postpartum, and the Early Weeks With More Support

At Annapolis Area Doulas, our classes and community gatherings are designed to help families feel more prepared, more connected, and less alone as they move through pregnancy, birth, and the Fourth Trimester.

Whether you are looking for childbirth education, newborn care guidance, lactation preparation, postpartum planning, or a place to connect with other parents, we would love to welcome you.

Some offerings are included for AAD birth and postpartum clients. Select support groups are offered free to the community as part of our commitment to restoring real support for growing families.

Our most complete class experience for families who want to prepare for both birth and the early weeks with baby.

The Birth Preparation Bundle brings together our most requested preparation classes so families can approach labor, recovery, and early parenthood with more confidence.

This is a wonderful fit for families who want clear, practical preparation for both birth and the Fourth Trimester.

Childbirth Express

A focused group birth preparation class designed to give families the essential tools and knowledge they need to approach labor with confidence.

This three hour class focuses on the most helpful information for labor, partner support, and the first hours after baby arrives.

Families learn:

  • What to expect during the stages of labor
  • Comfort techniques and movement during labor
  • Partner support strategies
  • Tools to help labor feel more manageable
  • What to expect immediately after baby arrives

Investment: $300 per couple

Postpartum and Newborn Care

This two hour class helps families prepare for the early days and weeks after birth.

Together we explore what the Fourth Trimester really looks like, including newborn care, feeding rhythms, postpartum recovery, and adjusting to life with a new baby.

Topics include:

  • Newborn care basics
  • Feeding rhythms and early sleep expectations
  • Postpartum recovery and healing
  • Supporting the emotional transition into parenthood
  • Building your postpartum support plan

Investment: $200 per couple

Digital Comfort Measures for Labor

This easy to follow digital class teaches simple, effective comfort techniques that can help labor feel more manageable and supported.

Designed for both birthing parents and partners, this class focuses on practical tools that can be used in any birth setting.

Families learn:

  • Positioning and movement during labor
  • Partner support techniques
  • Comfort strategies for different stages of labor
  • Tools to help labor progress

Private Birth and Newborn Preparation

For families who prefer a more personalized learning experience, we offer private preparation sessions designed around your specific questions and priorities.

These private three hour sessions can focus on childbirth preparation, newborn care, postpartum recovery, or a combination of what feels most helpful for your family.

Prenatal Lactation Group

A small group gathering designed to help expecting families prepare for feeding and the early postpartum transition.

This group offers space for practical education, questions, and gentle guidance before baby arrives.

  • Overnight and daytime postpartum care options

Free Community Support Groups

Pregnancy Support Group

A monthly space for expecting parents to connect, ask questions, and feel supported during pregnancy.

Third Tuesday of each month
6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Free. Registration required.

Postpartum Support Group

A monthly space for new parents to gather, talk honestly, and receive support during the early months with baby.

Babies are welcome.

Third Thursday of each month
10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Free. Registration required.

Families who book birth or postpartum support with Annapolis Area Doulas receive access to select classes, groups, and planning offerings as part of their care experience.
